Information on juicing Pear

To tell whether a pear is ripe or not simply apply gentle thumb pressure near the base of the stem. If it yields slightly, it's ripe.

Pears ripen from the inside out. The juice from pears will be clearer if the pears are stored in the refridgerator.

Soft pears can clog your juicer as they can block the holes in the sieve of the pulp collecting basket in centrifugal juicers. For this reason I tend to leave juicing pears until last when making juice recipes with pears in. Alternatively you can alternate your pear segments with a hard fleshed ingredient such as apple to help the juice flow through your juicer.

Pure fresh pear juice can be a bit thick for some peoples tastes and so you may to prefer to dilute it in a multi juice recipe or add some purified / filtered water.
